On Saturday 30 June 2018, we celebrated the grand opening of our free ‘Gym in the Park’, which is located in Rope Walk Gardens. Photos from the event can be found below.
We were joined by members of staff, our patients, local residents and a number of healthcare providers to celebrate the opening of the park, which has been in development since 2015, when the Patient Participation Group at Whitechapel Health Centre asked the practice to support the establishment of a park gym.
Dr Hasnain Abbasi, GP Director for AT Medics, was present to cut the ribbon and visitors had access to free refreshments, demonstrations of the equipment, henna, a raffle and face painting for our younger visitors.
The park is free to use for our patients and local residents and is supported by the Mayor of Tower Hamlets and Public Health England. There are also free gym sessions, please see times below.
Whitechapel Health Centre hosted a number of successful Carers Events for all members of the public in November 2017. See pictures from the event below.
The events were well attended, mixed with members of the general public, registered patients, local healthcare providers and surgery staff.
Attendees had the opportunity to meet with the Practice Manager, together with new and long standing staff members of the practice. The event helped to raise awareness about a number of local healthcare service providers, all of which are accessible through the surgery for patients and residents of Tower Hamlets. Patients also had access to refreshments.
The event provided a great platform for local healthcare services to engage with one another, promoting a holistic and community based approach to healthcare.
